By Lila Bryant

Change is the only permanence in life. To be able to be made new all the time, something has to undergo change. Things only get better when they transform, which is why gadgets have to go through loads of improvisations and modifications to outdo itself every time.

In the same manner, skills also get depreciated as years get by. Professionals have to practice in their chosen fields or else the brain will forget. Licensed practical nurses have to take lpn refresher course florida to keep their brains functioning optimally and to enable them to give their best in their line of work. Since their chosen profession deals with health care, it is important that one should be kept up to date.

Undergoing through a refresher course does not necessarily mean that your work performance is deteriorating. It also serves to update nursing knowledge. It will also serve as an assurance to your employer, both present and future, that you are really capable of the job.

If you have not used your nursing license for more than five years, you will be required by NAPNES to take the refresher. This is not meant to belittle your capabilities or anything like that. A lot can happen in the course of five years that you were away, so to keep yourself updated, you must relearn some things and gain new ones that must have taken place since then.

The LPN refresher program is also required even for those who have active licenses. To be able to do your job just like a thorough professional would, one must be up to date with the latest in the field that you are working in. Imagine yourself as a computer. If one hits the refresh button, the lagged windows will instantly fix themselves out and your device will run more smoothly than before it was refreshed. You are that computer, and you will be able to do more after this course.

To be able to get yourself enrolled in the LPN refresher, there are some requirements that you must be able to submit. The first one is your license, along with proof for registration purposes. You will also be asked to submit your newest CPR certification, transcript of records, and your diploma. There could be other requirements depending on which state you are in as of the moment, but those are the basic ones.

Like most courses, the LPN refresher course comes with a fee to be paid by everyone who is interested. The fee, however, does not come in a fixed rate. The amount depends on the regulations and rules applied by the state.

If you feel that you can not complete the said program within 365 days, an extension can be granted. This extension has a span of about three months. The student is required to submit a written request at least a month before the year is up to be eligible for extension. This comes with a $75 charge.

If you can not go to an actual course, you can always try it out online. Just make sure that the program, whether online or otherwise, is approved by NAPNES. Though this tends to be a bit exhausting, you will find that all your efforts will pay off in the end.
